Physician scheduling alternatives

Managed physician scheduling services — and an alternative

You can delegate schedule building to a service, or equip your own scheduler with a different engine. The right choice depends on who should own the rulebook, resolve exceptions, and approve the final schedule.

How CAIER is different — live today

CAIER™ builds the full draft schedule toward the Circadian Alignment Index (CAI™) score. Your own scheduler or director reviews and publishes it. The engine supports the people responsible for the department; it is not a managed service that takes over their decisions.

CAI measures night clustering, rotation direction, recovery time, and how evenly that load is shared. It is being tested openly at research.caier.ai, not described as clinically validated. Your department keeps responsibility for coverage requirements, exceptions, and approval.

Physicians use the app directly for requests, swaps, calendar sync, and mobile access. That gives the team a way to participate in day-to-day scheduling while keeping review and publication with the department. CAIER publishes its monthly practice-group pricing and optional add-ons; check the current terms for your department’s needs.

In development · director approval required

An automated option is in development where schedules are built and prepared for publication within limits your department sets, with director approval before anything goes out.

Which model fits your team?

A managed service can be appropriate when delegating the work is your priority. A department-led engine can be appropriate when your scheduler wants to keep the rulebook and decision-making close to the team. Compare the review process, the handling of exceptions, and who physicians contact when a schedule needs to change.

Common questions

Do I need a managed service if I use CAIER?

Not necessarily. CAIER’s engine builds a draft and your scheduler or director reviews and publishes it. Whether you also need a managed service depends on how much scheduling work your department wants to delegate.

Can CAIER build our schedule without our scheduler?

Not yet. The engine builds the draft and your team reviews it; an automated option is in development with director approval before publication.

How is CAIER priced?

CAIER publishes its prices. Plans have a monthly practice-group fee, with optional add-ons; check the current pricing for your department’s requirements at https://er.caier.ai/tier-calculator.
